- Utaite A nico singer. Someone who records songs and uploads them to Nico
- Namahousou A live broadcast on Nico. Requires a nico account to view
- Timeshift A feature of namahousou that allows you to watch a live broadcast after it's finished. Free users must reserve it ahead of time, while Premium users don't need to. Both users can only timeshift nico lives for a maximum of 7 days after their original broadcast.
- MyList A list of videos that every Nico user can create. Most nico singers will have a mylist consisting of the songs they have covered
Nico slang
- w warau, roughly translates to "to grin". Several w's is basically the Japanese speaking equivalent of lol.
- gj Good job
- orz/OTL It's supposed to look like a person on their knees, head bent over in embarrassment.
- KY Kuuki Yomenai, someone who isn't very good at reading social situations
- ktkr kitakore, basically means "It's here!"
- (ry Ryaku, used at the end of sentences. Means that the person doesn't want to continue what they're saying because it's obvious
- wktk Wakuwaku tekateka, means that you are eagerly anticipating something
- gdgd gudaguda, means sloppy
